Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Virunga National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will be welcomed by your Tour guide for a 3 Days Gorilla Safari in Congo. Optional you may be picked from your hotel of residence in Kigali. You will be given a short briefing about your gorilla safari; expectations and your tour start then. Virunga national park is one of the parks to host the endangered mountain gorillas with a registered number of 8 habituated gorilla families open for gorilla trekking safaris. Get on the road through Kigali city and visit some historical places such as the Kandt museum, genocide memorial sites, craft markets then proceed to cross the Goma border to the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will have lunch en-route, on reaching the border visit the migration office and be handed over to the Virunga National Park Authorities for transfer to your lodge in the park.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Virunga National Park
On this day, you are required to wake up early, have breakfast at the lodge, and be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing. Pre gorilla trek briefing starts at exactly 8 am with guidelines, dos, and don’ts. You will be allocated a gorilla family to track in groups of 8 per gorilla family. Remember gorillas are wild much as they are habituated, take precautions seriously and you will enjoy your experience with the endangered species in their natural setting. You will be led into Virunga national park by the ranger guides in search of the allocated gorilla family. Based on your physical fitness the hike may be strenuous or easy but never the less it is worth it once you find a settled gorilla family. Stay in the company of your group, relax and enjoy one hour with the gorillas taking as many photographs as you can. After your one hour with the gorillas, return back to the starting point where you will meet your guide to drive back to the lodge for a rest. In the evening, you can take a walk, relax at the hotel or visit the gorilla orphanage at the Senkwekwe Centre.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali for departure
Wake up at leisure and have breakfast at the lodge, prepare and check out of the lode to your journey back to Kigali. Drop off at the Hotel or airport for departure.
