15 Days Uganda Safari

The 15 days Uganda Safari will be an Uganda tour circuit including major touristic destinations such as Murchison Falls national park of game drive and viewing other activities will include a boat cruise on the Nile River, hiking to the top of the falls and others, Kibale forest for Chimp tracking, nature walk at Bigodi walk, Queen Elizabeth for game viewing, crater lake drive, boat cruise at Kazinga channel and not forgetting to spot the tree climbing lions in Ishasha southern sector of Bwindi. From there you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park for a one lifetime Experience of gorilla trekking.  After that, you proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for having a cool breeze beside the lake, Lake Mburo national park, and the tour ends with an adrenaline Rafting adventure in Jinja.

Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park

You will wake up very early for morning breakfast and your guide will pick you from the hotel in Kampala and start your 15 Days Uganda Safari drive you to Murchison falls national park. Along the way, you will visit Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking on foot, later have lunch at Amuka lodge and proceed to Murchison falls national park. In case you arrive in time, you will be able to visit the falls at the top and how magnificent they are roaming thunderous water forcing its self in the narrow gorge 7 meters high. As well have a clear overview of the Nile as it flows to the Delta. After you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park – Game drives & Boat cruises

Wake and prepare for an early breakfast at the lodge and set out for a 2 hours game drive in Uganda’s largest savannah which harbors the 4 big games. Murchison has a variety of wild life species over 76 mammal species, some of which you will be able to spot such as Leopards, lions, elephants, herd of buffalos, hyenas, water reedbucks, bush bucks, giraffes, warthogs to mention but a few. Thereafter you will return to the lodge for lunch and then a boat cruise to the Nile delta where you will be able to see how the water separates as it flows into Lake Albert. You will also have a chance to spot the rare endemic bird species the shoebill, other bird species such saddle-billed stork, cormorants, and other several bird species.

Alternatively, a boat cruise to the bottom of the falls, you will be able to the school of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes all feeding at the banks of the river. You all so meet Nyamusika cliff home to many small birds. While at the bottom of the falls you have a chance to have an up-close look of the falls how they flow down into the Nile River, you can take a guided hike to the top of the falls.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest

Wake up early and after breakfast check out from your lodge and have a 2-hour game drive while exiting Murchison national park heading to Kibale Forest via Fort portal. Kibale Forest national park is the primate capital of Uganda one of Africa’s beautiful rain forests, home to over 5000 Chimpanzees and other 12 primate species. The Park is also home to over 325 bird species. You will reach Kibale in the evening check-in at the lodge to relax then have dinner and an overnight stay. Accommodation Options; Kyaninga Lodge (Super Luxury), Primate lodge/Ndali Lodge (Luxury), Chimp Nest Lodge (Mid-range).

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking

Have an early morning breakfast drive to the park quarters for briefing, you will then be led by the rangers to the rain forest to look for the chimpanzees while along you will be able to spot other primate species such as red-Tailed Monkeys, LHoest’s Monkeys, Blue Monkeys, Black & White colobus Monkeys baboons among others and also mammal species such as forest elephants, antelopes, 15 Days Uganda Safari, duikers can easily be spotted in the forest. Remember you have one hour unlike chimpanzee habituation where you spend a full day with the chimpanzees after finding a settled troop. Later go back to the lodge for lunch and in the evening you will a nature walk through the Bigodi wetland where you will see birds, baboons, bush babies among other wildlife species. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer Queen Elizabeth National Park

Immediately after breakfast set off for a 4-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth one of the most visited savanna parks which is one of Uganda’s outstanding wildlife National parks with a diversity of natural beauty, over 600 bird species, mammal species such as elephants, Leopards, buffaloes among others. During the journey, you will enjoy great views including the Rwenzori ranges. On reaching the park go for lunch and later an afternoon game drive in the evening where you will see a number of animals. Dine and sleep at the lodge. Day 6: Game drive & Boat cruise – Queen Elizabeth Park

Wake up very early for a 6:00 am morning drive along kasenyi track in order to spot some of the nocturnal animals before they return to their hideout. You will be able to spot leopards, hyenas, lions, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, antelopes among others. After the 3-hour drive, head back for lunch as you prepare for the afternoon 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel which is home to water species such as hippos, crocodiles, also you will be able to spot waterbird species.  15 Days Uganda Safari, More of the mammals to see are elephants, buffaloes at the bank of the lake irrigating. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation Options; Katara Lodge/Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Ihamba Safari Lodge/Simba Safari Camp/ crater safari lodge.

Day 7: Game drive & Transfer to Bwindi

Wake up so early and have breakfast, later do another round of game drive through Ishasha, southern sector of the park. This sector is known for the adaptive behavior of lions climbing up in the fig tree now commonly termed as the tree-climbing lions. You will be able to spot the lions alongside other mammal species as you proceed to the mighty jungle of Bwindi Forest national park. You will reach in the evening and check in the lodge, rest preparing the following day gorilla tracking. Accommodation Options; Gorilla safari lodge/Buhoma lodge (Luxury)/Haven lodge (Mid-range), Buhoma Community Camp/Bwindi view bandas (Budget)

Day 8: Mountain Gorilla tracking safari

On this day you are required to wake up early prepared to have breakfast as you proceed to the park quarters for briefing about this expedition. Mountain gorillas are the major touristic feature of Bwindi Forest national park, close to more than 20 Habituated gorilla families are within here. This experience usually takes 1 hour to about 8 hours since gorillas move differently also and only 1 hour is granted to capture your greatest moments with the gorillas. Just in case some of you are not interested in tracking gorillas, you can go for a short guided forest walk or a Village walk to the Batwa community. Retire at the lodge. Day 9: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today after breakfast you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake and a birders spot. Lake Bunyonyi has an Aerial eye-catching view because of its 29 islands. surrounded by the kigezi terraced gardens. Also, 15 Days Uganda Safari, while here you are in the base that was named by British great diplomat Winston Churchill as the Switzerland of Africa. A canoe ride will bring you closer to visit the 29 islands and an evening nature walk.

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi

Today you will spend the at the lake, have breakfast, and later take a canoe ride to various islands, notable ones are Punishment Island with its history, enjoy the guided canoe ride, and the stories from the guides on this boat ride. Return to the lodge, have lunch and in the afternoon, take a walk, or hike up the hills to enjoy more spectacular views of forests and lakes or bird watching. Lake Bunyonyi is free from Bilharzia therefore it’s safe for swimming. Dinner and overnight stay at Day 9

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

In the morning after breakfast, embark on the road driving through the rolling hills of kigezi highlands to Lake Mburo National Park, Uganda’s smallest park with lunch en-route you will be passing through stunning sceneries, farms, and plantations. The Park is home to a big number of Zebras, also impalas, oribis, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, and also over 332 bird species made it their home. When you arrive in the park- in the afternoon go on a boat cruise along Lake Mburo, take enough photographs and in the night, you can also enroll for a night game drive. Day 12: Drive to Kampala

Enjoy an early breakfast and do a morning game drive as you travel back to Kampala, have a stop at the Equator line; take photos and also buy some souvenirs from the craft shop. Enjoy lunch still at the Equator or in Kampala depending on the time you arrive there.

After lunch drive to Jinja located in the East of Uganda and the home of the source of the Nile River. Arrive in the evening and have dinner and take a rest at the lodge/hotel of your choice.

Day 13:  City tour and transfer to jinja

Wake up at leisure, prepare and have a city tour within Kampala, you will visit various places such as the Bahai temple of the Bahai faith, Gadhafi Mosque, craft markets, the Uganda museum, and in the afternoon, you will drive to jinja to the source of the Nile where you will spend the night. Accommodation; Nile village Hotel, Jinja Base camp, Jinja safari Hotel.

Day 14: Explore the source of the Nile

Have an early breakfast and head out for today’s activities. The Nile River finds its source in Jinja where it starts the 4000 km through different African countries. Your safari guide will take you to where the beginning point is as you go for discovering the Source of the Nile; you will go for a guided boat cruise on the Nile. 15 Days Uganda Safari, After the boat, go for half a day rafting on the rapids which is an adventure and an unforgettable experience. Have lunch and after you could choose to rest at the lodge on the swimming pool or go for optional activities like bungee jumping or kayaking or quad biking or Horse riding. Dinner and overnight stay day 13.

Day 15: Return to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport

Have breakfast at leisure and check out of the lodge heading back to Kampala or Entebbe if flight is on schedule.
